“The Whole Enchilada”
It is my belief that I must always chase what I’m passionate about and that is why Casa Vista Verde experience came to life with my catchy slogan: Dream House & Vacation Paradise!
During a visit to Cuba I learned that due to the cane sugar price collapse (some years ago), in their move to promote tourism, an innovative concept of vacation rentals called “Casas Particulares” was developed. Real nice Cuban families that would allow you to stay with them in a nice bedroom with a/c and all the amenities.
I visited Havana, Pinar del Rio, Varadero, Santa Clara, Trinidad & Cienfuegos always staying in those nice Casas Particulares and learning from their hosting experiences and making wondrous human connections (Spanish is my forte)!
In search for a better term, “enlightening” will best describe the experience as I decided that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my days!
My family vacation concept was always limited to staying in unexceptional small hotel rooms that totally isolated me from the real local people and learning from their culture.
I’m José, 67, father of 3 adult kids, grandfather of 8 grandchildren, married for 46 yrs. to Mrs. Diaz. Education wise I obtained a BS, AS in Networking Engineering, Master’s in Counseling, Masters in Networking Security. Retired as a High School Computer Science Teacher and a Seminole State College Adjunct Professor. I’m a 3rd ID US Army Veteran that proudly served in Schweinfurt, FRG at the Brigade Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (learned enough basic German to get in trouble).
I love sharing my love for travelling, food, cultural exchanges and among other things, I love history, photography and technology. I drink a glass of wine with my supper (Merlot). I’m a certified P.A.D.I. scuba diver since 1989 and always dreaming with finding a shipwreck with a nice treasure!
